As Broadcast Asia wrapped in Singapore, Createasphere announced the successful debut of its innovative 3D educational offerings that took place during the event. The Panasonic 3D Workshops, sponsored in Singapore by Panasonic Asia Pacific, are intense, in depth training in 3D workflows, led by recognized industry professionals. Createasphere, a leader in entertainment technology exhibitions and high quality education, has been presenting events and workshops in the US and abroad since 2001 and has a long standing relationship providing education for Panasonic products. Long considered the must-attend event for the content, digital media and entertainment industry, Broadcast Asia attracts a global audience focused on quality information and close up exploration of products and technologies. The Singapore event offered a high impact opportunity to launch the 3D workshops.
The sessions marked the global launch of Createasphere’s 3D education initiative set to unroll in cities around the world over the course of 2010-2011. The Panasonic 3D Production Workshop will rollout in the in Los Angeles and New York this fall and head to other US and international cities shortly thereafter. The global schedule for the 3D education is expected shortly.
The Broadcast Asia sessions included a Master Class and shorter “Crash Courses,” led by well respected professional cinematographers; Geoff Boyle, BSC and Producer Barry Braverman. Both Boyle and Braverman brought the benefit of their years of in-the-trenches 2D and 3D experience to appreciative attendees. The Master Class, an invitation-only, VIP session, took place over the course of two days, during which attendees met an international pool of colleagues, dug into an extensive overview of 3D including a review of equipment options, and experienced hands-on use of the cameras in a number of production environments. The master class instructors and participants shot with Panasonic’s new AG-3DA1, the world’s first professional quality, fully-integrated Full HD 3D camcorder offering SD media card recording, into a number of diverse production environments: the streets of Singapore; on a boat in Singapore Harbor; and onto a set, to name but a few of the stops.
The 3D Crash Course was aimed at a broad spectrum of potential 3D content creators and took place twice in the state of the art 3D Panasonic Asia booth. Both the Master Class and Crash Courses were filled to capacity.
Brian Henderson, Sales Manager for Createasphere, was with the team in Singapore. He commented, “Working with our colleagues from Panasonic Asia Pacific has been an absolutely outstanding experience. All of us on the teaching and presenting team have been blown away by the cameras and workflows and by our great students. The students are taking these workshops directly into their creative and producing thinking. I am certain we will see amazing content coming out of our attendees, very soon. It’s inspiring to see the tools, the training and the engagement of the students.”
